Transformation, change, transition - whichever word you use, organisations are now rushing to bring the future into the present at a rate of change no-one anticipated.

All the organisational transformations I have experienced – as a leader or as a coach – inform how I consult now to create the right approach for your organisation.

As your leaders focus on speeding up digitalisation, creating hybrid ways of working and finding new means to reach customers, I help you look at the organisation’s culture and leadership behaviour. This is vital to sustain the innovations and change that are being put in place so rapidly.

While change can be exciting, many people are exhausted by the unexpected turbulence we face; the role of leadership is to give hope that all this effort will not be lost in the long-term. To do this means being aligned to purpose, not losing sight of values and having leaders that act with integrity, courage and compassion. All of this can be energising to employees.

The Key Elements of My Approach:

Taking time to understand what is happening in the organisation - even with the need for speed - is key in order to design a process that will bring about sustained change. I do this through confidential one-on-one interviews, focus groups and surveys. You will get a thematic report enabling us to then agree next steps. These include:

The Leadership Team
Transformation goes nowhere if the leadership team is not fully aligned. Therefore, my consulting work always starts with the leadership team to align around purpose, be aware of their impact of their collective behaviour and have a sense of togetherness that radiates throughout the organisation.
Leadership Development
Self-aware leaders make a huge difference to the organisation. I design learning experiences for senior levels of leaders across the company, helping them to understand their life-story, to be aware of how their reputation may be different from their intent, and to create new leadership habits. This level of awareness enables them to strengthen their integrity, find their courage and show compassion. All of these make a positive difference to the lives of the employees they lead and in doing so enable the organisational transformation.
Creative Problem-Solving
Through a facilitated, structured approach to problem-solving I enable leaders to access a wide range of views and ideas in order to have breakthrough thinking on a business challenge. This is a powerful way to quickly generate solutions to new issues and problems that emerge during times of transition.
Purpose

Using your organisation’s purpose as your “north star” is at the heart of steering through turbulent change. In the unexpectedness of this turbulence it is easy to lose sight of that purpose. I design processes – all of which can be run virtually – to ensure your organisation’s sense of purpose is strong and present in all you do.

Values

Values drive our behaviour, and during times of change when we are feeling lost or anxious, remembering our values can help us get back to solid ground. I use Hogan Assessments to help leaders focus on what really matters to them and identify what happens when they are under stress. Understanding this can increase self-awareness as well as a sense of personal agency which is often lacking under stress.

Leadership Behaviour

Most leaders have a good intent when it comes to their behaviour but often their reputation is misaligned with that intent. Through workshops that focus on feedback and peer coaching, I help leaders understand their reputation with their teams and other stakeholders. They identify what they need to do to strengthen or realign their reputation in order to make work a better place in which employees fulfil their potential and the business thrives.
